We participated in a round table on Occupational Safety and Health.

At this meeting, held at the EUSS engineering school in Barcelona, the trends and challenges posed by safety in industrial environments were analyzed from the perspective of various professional profiles linked to the safety sector to explore the issue from the productive, labor, academic and administrative point of view.

Laura Moreno, who has been working in the field of occupational risk prevention for 35 years, emphasized during her speech the role of technical prevention personnel: "We are the driving force for change. We are the most important, although not the most valued. Our figure should be more considered and protected by the administration, because there are fewer and fewer professionals who want to dedicate themselves to prevention". In this sense, our Director of Occupational Safety and Health, who defended the recovery of the spirit of the ORP law, stated that "the first thing to do is to eliminate the risks and then evaluate those that could not be eliminated, but the pressure of the administrations forces us to do it the other way around".

On the other hand, Moreno highlighted human behavior as a key factor, assuring that "once you have everything done, the most serious accidents are still caused by people who do not comply with safety regulations". It is necessary to investigate workers who break the rules, putting themselves and others at risk. To this end, the regulations should specify how many people must be exclusively dedicated to prevention in a company, work on culture, commitment and communication, as well as guarantee the presence of technical personnel in the production process on a permanent basis. On the other hand, the Director of Occupational Health and Safety considered that "in the past, safety at work was seen as a cost or a nuisance, both for workers and trade unions. This is evolving with new generations who are more open to change".

Audens Food is proud to participate in these types of forums, to be able to contribute its expertise in leading the way to a safer work environment. For us, Occupational Health and Safety are unwavering commitments that are part of our Values, because only by putting people at the center of all our actions can we achieve solid and competitive companies.
